Even if you aren't going to overclock I would still save time, effort and money and get your preferred cooler straight up. No need to install a cooler twice.

Also consider going a non-Noctua cooler. Their lineup hasn't been updated properly for years now and there are coolers that beat them out. Unless your intention was to go a basic air cooler and proper WC later down the track; in that case ignore me.

Well I picked up my system yesterday from Scorptec. Just awesome aussie geek pc guys to deal with each and every time I go there and no I dont work for or know them, I just appreciate a honest and well run business. (places like msy and their bored/annoyed to deal with a customer front desk guy that wont even say hello back, can suck my balls)

So, I got it home, unpacked, plugged in and started the install of software and games. All good.

Had a game of BF3 in 3d and I giggled like a little girl when the bullets passed my face.
I just didnt think I could get a surprise from gaming anymore. It leaves my Sony/PS3 in 3D for dead.
And this Asus screen leaves my Samsung 24" IPS even deader.

Then my 9 and 6 year old kicked me off after 5 mins due to their computers dont have 3D and I'm to old and slow to watch..

With bf3 you running it on ultra in 3d right? Check out your gpu uages, it'll be very low. This is a known issue with this game in 3d. Because of this issue settings will need to be turned down when in fact your pc should destroy this game in 3d.
BF3 is far from the best game in 3d, doesn't even let you adjust the convergence. get Trine 1 or 2 off steam, your kids will love it and the 3d is second to none.

The Asus 27" one you guys were talking about in the other thread.
Got Crysis 2 going atm downloading the HD texture pack to give it a bash. Don't think I actually had time to change any settings in BF3 yet. I think it was all default from the reinstall I did. Only thing I did was turn down sound as the volume has been ear shattering now I'm using this Gigabyte Sniper board with its onboard amp. My Beyerdynamics mmx 300's have improved 100% in volume and quality over my old onboard sounds.

Yeah I think I'll get Trine 2 for the three systems I got here if we can all play. Can you play three player? How do you post pics? I gotta show you guys mission control here, well thats what the wife calls it ;)

You get some idea of the size of the case here compared to my old Antec 182. I had to move the desk one piece leg to the left to get it to fit. Ignore the cables as I hadn't finished my cable management to desk underside yet.

na a single 680. Read about heating to case with 690's and the stupid Australian price rape and decided an SLI option later in the year was a smarter option.

Its an ATO system so it was always going to be over priced and redundant. Besides its will just move to the right of the desk in three years like the other two did ;)

Frozencpu dropped the price to 1050. But I got too much on my plate now... We'll see.

I was looking at getting the 660 but it is in reality a cut down 680, so my next new card = 680?

As i checked out the performance charts for a bunch of cards i noticed a card that had gone through to the keeper that totally blitzed Radeon latest and Nvidia's new 660 cards that was the GTX 590.

I was quite surprised usually the performance difference between Nvidia and Radeon, Radeon is always a little bit faster yet this 590 just creamed every thing by a country mile.

The chart you were looking at must not have had the AMD 6990. That is is AMD direct competitor to the 590. They are about the same speed.
