In the Anything Y'all Want? thread, you asked for active GameOps. I agree, we need some new blood. I'd like to promote a couple of you to GameOps to act as server admins and generally work with the community to improve TF2 support at GameArena.

I've just removed a bunch of questions from the TF2 GameOp Application system, cutting it down to a much smaller and more relevant list. I'm looking for people who are keen to help make the GA TF2 community a better place. The application system is here.

If you know someone who would be great but might not read these forums (they are a bit dead, which is something we need to fix) point them in this direction. In fact, force them to apply.

Being a server admin is much more complex and responsible than flying a plane!

Also, as a minor, you don't have the capacity to enter into a binding contract, so you can't sign the forms to get the passwords.

I was going to put in an application, but I noticed it says you have to reside in Australia. I live in New Zealand and was wondering if that was close enough? Or is that a firm rule?

Absolute minimum requirements -
-must be an Australian resident
-must be 18 or older

They are asked before anything else to save people wasting their time filling in the form and then finding out these requirements later.

I'm going to make the wild assumption that New Zealand isn't considered a part of Australia.

So now we are a little shy of 11 months since that was promised and more than a month since the OP in this thread. Nothing has changed since then I can only imagine things have gotten worse since TF2 went free to play.

I find myself wondering why there is still a forum section for this game since there is no discussion here and any server concerns are never addressed properly by the gameop team which is now composed of effectively zero people.

Basically GA servers are a hackers haven as there are no active Gameops at all. Pretty dissapointing.

absolutly nothing, because sharing power with active players is blasphemy and theyd rather close down the TF2 servers than recruit new admins

Nothing will happen, GA have practically shown they dont give 2 **** about TF2 or the admin of it, youd have more luck convincing getting blood from a stone

My mate became a TF2 admin.

If that's true why aren't we told who it is. The whole point of getting more gameops was so we can contact them and get the offending person off the server faster then submitting reports.

The gameop list is public and there hasn't been any TF2 admins added since the game was released over 4 years ago.

Well there was one but he left some time ago, I wonder why...

We need to get more admins or something soon, 24/7 is overrun with hackers and while the reports are sent in, it doesnt help that the hackers have free reign of the server till they get bored and move on.

Now i get it. Saxton Hale is fictional, so his after fictional Gameops.

Nah I reckon the Tf2 GAmeops started this to rectify the falling number of active GAmeops, but before they could get some new guys they all quit TF2.

Well i got a response from Malthius saying they hope to have something happen early this week...

Something IS happening soon, next week I'm pretty sure.

Plus if you want to try and clean up the servers, why not help? Report the hackers, take a demo and submit it for review so they can be banned.

You think we dont do that already? It's more to get a quick response rather than wait forever for it to be reviewed and have them banned AFTER they spent 1/2 hours on the server ruining the fun of everyone there.

I got slammed over Christmas. We had some great applicants and I've picked four or so. We'll be adding them as GameOps in the next week or so, and they'll be running rampant banning cheaters and giving me feedback in no time.

Could it be? Active GameOps? I hope an active regular finally got a position.
