After seeing how suggestions keep getting spread across forums I thought it would be a good idea to get a thread like this setup early
Keeping all suggestions in one place makes it easier for the decision makers to find them.
Suggestions only and reasonable ones at that.

I apologise if some of these suggestions have come up in other threads:
1. Removing restrictions on fov. This would allow players to make their own zoom scripts so they can adjust the sensitivity when zoomed in. It wouldn't allow for the extra damage with the machine gun, but it's more of a comfort thing.
2. High fps maps. Reworked versions of the current maps have been released that will allow people with weaker pcs to achieve stable framerates.

From what I remember, they decrease the complexity of some of the lighting in maps. The maps are still well lit, but they alleviate the strain on lower end pcs. I think this development is important to watch as from what I've read, this will be a standard future Q4 mappers will follow.
3. X-Battle (mod). This mod seems to be the mod of choice for major Q4 leagues overseas. It is a smaller download than Q4max, has better brightskins and more options iirc.

i would like to see a mod in the place of the vq4 trny
q4max has been choosen for the cpl mod.
At this point in time they have not changed a great deal, but it does have defualt bright skins.
Also voting enabled would be nice, if there is away to only allow map voting in the servers so ppl cannot turn anyold server in a dm ffa. If we cannot get voting enabled a longer timelimit of 10 mins on the tourney servers, and no frag limit would make it more enjoyable. With a 5min game and only 10 frags it leaves little room for a nice tactical game.
Q4max , with voting enabled
Edit : dr4chfps maps might get a few more ppl playing as they make q4 playable for people on a middle range system.

Map rotations and a 10 minute round time on the instagib server have been logged.
We are currently looking into mods maps and other settings over the next few days.
Sorry if this seems slow but ws is currently doing exams.

pawl they are no different in detail to the original maps, They just allow you to alter the lighting "IF" you so desire. You can play the fps maps with the same detail level as the out of the box ones. :/.

Could a fraglimit of 50, Timelimit 10 be put on the FFA server? This is the only Australian server that doesn't have a fraglimit and a reasonable timelimit (20 minutes is way too long). I asked about this a while ago but i didn't get any reply.

Thankyou for placing the fps maps on the servers  .
The thing is though...on the 1v1 trny server, we cant play the maps. There is no way to vote the maps in  and it just replays the first map over and over. Mabey we could have voting enabled on only the the trny server. The 5 min games and 10 frags frag limit is annoying as well. Trny is about the only mode i play. I would use the game arena server becasue i am on bpa cable, but the server settings are pretty newb atm  .
Voting enabled, or a decent map rotation with 10 min games and an open frag limit.
Install Q4max.
this would make the ga server sweet and it would get lots of play.

Sorry guys, I've been off with the pixies and exams. Just starting to get into it, so I've been wading through a kagillion posts/threads and other info.
This is more of a notification post. A job has been logged for the fraglimit to be set at 50 and the timelimit to be lowered to 10min for the FFA server. This _should_ be in effect as of tomorrow (monday).
I'll have a chat with edward and reema about the tourney server as well as q4max and see what we come up with.

id like to see the removal of q4dm5 from atleast the instagib server , as it sure is a server clearer.
As the insta server seems to be the most popular , it would be good to keep the action flowing.
The problem is that the map is too big and ugly ,
and it is not a good insta map at all.

fast paced mod which offers enhancements to quake4, fast weapons, more damage, fps improvments (check out the site for all the great improvements it has)...great for the oldschool quakeworld players, cpma players from q3 and people who think vq4 is seriously flawed (ie, everyone  )
The mod has/will have all the great things q4max has, but has what q4max doesnt, a great change in physics to speed up quake4
it would be awsome if this mod could be used for a Tourney & DM server! (the current ctf servers never get used)
beta 2.1 was just released,
admins please seriously consider this mod, i'd be happy to help out with server configs and the like

Hey guyz
I have wanted to play in that instagib server for awhile now.
But when prompted with the required files site, it doesn't have all the REQUIRED files!
You need the istagib mod which can be downloaded here:

I have contacted GameArena to add this file to the required files site.
Hopefully once this is done more people will be able to join!

I was viewing servers through "Other Servers" option on the Arena browser, but they always appeared down. Clicked on "Arena Servers" tab and there they were!
Might start playing again now.

it seems atm only duel servers get players and a few death matchs here and there, none of the game arena duel servers get players (lack of competitive maps).
When ra4 hits the pub there should be a few more players floating about.

i see the pes nationals will be having the quals on the gamearena servers
The maps in the quals will be as i stated in this thread about 4 posts back.

1.2 server is great, just can`t wait till qmax gets updated to 1.2 (qmax 0.74?)

This game will never work;
Have installed Q4Max 0.74...Patchv1.2....GA Map Pack
FFA Server goes through everything then goes back to arena.
CTF & Tourney Servers Go through Everything ,Then says more files Required.
Edit:Others seem to have it working someway,so Im wondering if anyone else has Duel Core and 2 cards in SLI

It looks like ga has updated q4max to 0.74 today, gonna try it when I get home. All previous problems were related to the incompatiblity of 0.73q4max & 1.2point release.
btw: when you installed q4max 0.74 you deleted your old q4max directory first ?. Just hope GA did the same
Hmm missing files, you got on OK to GA q4max before the 1.2 point release?
