I got a Thomson router with my Bigpond T-Hub bundle and since then i have been suffering closed NAT types, disconnects 60 seconds after i join a server (Homefront, Killing Floor) and server just not showing up on my server browser even though other friends are playing on them.
I have this problem with all my systems on the network, I've opened ports for many a game and UPnP is on and the firewall is off.
I need either a fix or a replacement router.

Welcome to T$ top of the line, start of the art technology. You can not replace it because the only way to access the T$ network is using only T$ supplied equipment.
So say T$ anyway.
Replace it and get a real modem/router. Not a tinker toy.

That would be a considerable improvement. But i'm looking for something that will be a viable option for PC gaming.

I use a Netgear dgnd3700. good speed, lots of features, dual band wireless, gigabit ethernet, and a built in modem. haven't had any problems. they cost around $130-$180 now, so its a good deal too.
Ps: i got mine for $150 last year.
