So, the game Dead Island. We're all familar with it... It had the best trailer, and the game itself is debatable in its appeal. There's a new one coming out, as you likley know, called Riptide. Once again the trailer is great and the game will likley be not anywhere near as good as the trailer promises. Has anyone seen the pre-order statue yet? Man... I'm shocked I haven't heard a bigger stink about this. I thought one look and mothers everywhere would vomit up words of grief and rage. Check it out: So, wadda ya think? Too far? Not far enough? Sufficently far that you could fap too it, but too far for you to tell others that you are? Go on, you can tell me, it's cool.

Whoever they get to make those trailers should be enlisted to make trailers for every game.
I quite liked Dead Island. Was great fun. I hope they don't stray too far from the original because of how polarising it was.

I'd pay to watch a zombie film made by the people who made those trailers. Those guys really have a knack for it.

Sorry squiddy OT: Cherocha I just bought Dead Island during the steam sale, is it worth while doing the all the side quests or just some and the main? I know the XP is needed but...
I'm not far in and fed up bringing people booze, water and doing ****, not sure I want to help everybody in the surf club and the light house...don't mind exploring but its starting to **** me when you go back to an area and all the zeds have respawned, feels more repetitive than dayz lol.

Hey, man, don't sweat it! Obviously you want Cherocha's opinion, but I'm'a put this here incase you want to consider a likley contary opinion as well: The game stays that way. You'll change zones, you'll make VERY silly weapons, you'll meet new zombies and bad guys, but it's the same thing. You can't clear zones, so you'll always have the respawn, but that's likley a good thing as the game would get kinda dull if all you had to do was clear out 5-10 corpses before the place was empty. There are some levels that are better and more fun and have an interesting atmosphere, but they aren't game changers by any means. There is a plot, and it has some moments that are interesting, but it won't blow you away. In essence, if the first hour didn't make you want to keep playing, you aren't going to want to keep playing. I turned on all the taps in the world I could find. Yup...

Maybe I was distracted by the wounds, blood and giant boobs, as opposed to the statues perfect, smooth simplicity and understated, non-porn star titties.

If you're the type who's an RPG completionist, you'll end up doing all the silly little side quests so you've got enough XP to level up to the point of having a zeus powered katana or hammer or whatever. The plot's ordinary, and so are the quests, so the only reason to play it is for the grind, and the combat. I loved the melee action, and really loved the gunplay and battles with the gang members that came later on in the game. Give it a few hours play, I remember it took me a little bit to get into it.
