The motorcycle did the majority of the colliding from what I can tell.

The thread subject is safe driving.
I believe driving more than 10 KM under the speed limit can be dangerous as well.
Its the difference in speed that causes problems IMO.

I'm pretty sure I'm the only person in Sydney who actually drives at the speed limit.

Well, technically I'm not supposed to go over 90 but on the freeway **** that, everyone else is already going 120k's going 90 will get me killed.

These days taking a 2 second right turn into another street ends up with the person behind you doing a Formula 1 overtaking menuever head on with cars traveling at 60km/h with only several metres of space between the guy over-taking you and the oncoming traffic.

In the space of 2 days I had to ramp up a curb to dodge a chick in a 4WD who pulled into my street without looking. The next day I was driving down a main road and a truck sitting beside me pulled halfway into my lane. I had to slam on the brakes to stop him sideswiping me off the road.

If I wasn't paying attention either time there's a high chance I would've been dead. I treat every other driver on the road as an idiot. Because 90% of the time they are. People drive like retards, it's scary.

i reckon compulsory high visibility vests/jumpers/jackets/etc would reduce number of motorcycle incidents.

the other day I was driving up an onramp onto the motorway. As the lane disappeared with the dotted lane marker I accelerated up to the speed limit of the motorway, indicated and moved into the lane on the right. Some fool behind me, who was also merging, had accelerated faster than I had and was moving into the lane at the same time as me, but going faster. So even though the lane I am in is fast disapearing in front of me and I have nowhere else to go but merge, he thinks I should give way to him because he is now sitting in the lane that I need to merge into. Normal, sane people in this situation understand that we all need to merge onto the motorway one after another and then we can spread out and overtake as necessary. So he leans on the horn and swerves into the next lane, gives me the finger and hoons up the road. about 10 seconds later he has moved across 3 lanes to get into the far right lane. He comes flying out from a car in the middle lane and starts punching it up the far right lane just as a car in front of the car he was behind in the middle lane starts moving into the right lane (with his indicator on). So the maniac guy has to swerve onto the shoulder of the road to avoid a collision and then hoons on up the road.

The point is that guy is probably thinking “man there are so many crazy drivers out today”. I’m not saying this applies to you at all, but sometimes people who think they are surrounded by crazy drivers are like this guy.

Not as dangerous of a situation as baboons. I was Driving down the street the other day. when this car just went through a give way sign. It was only a small street so we were both only doing about 40ish. Still wouldn't like to have been t-boned. The thing is. Most knobs who run giveways/stop signs like that will have a quick look. This **** just stared straight ahead. I was about a car length away so i just gave a little "You dumb ****' toot. And she looked at me like i was in the wrong. There are ppl out there who drive like compelte ****. But in their head they think it is everyone else who are causing all their near misses

I have to admit, and this is the only time I have ever done this after many years of driving, I went through a red light the other day. I was in the front row at a red light, and the arrow went green but the straight-ahead main light stayed red. I just wasn't concentrating and went. when the guy with the green light started to move I thought, "whoah, that guy is gunna run the red light" and then the guy next to him started going and I thought "they both are gunna run it!" but then I realised what I had done and felt like a real idiot. Only time I've ever done it. 2 weeks ago.

new sources are: yahoo 7 **** headlines / grabs when im checking emails, abc news and media shows like media watch that are on iView and newspapers mainly the Melbourne Age. Magazines like vogue hommes and Elephant but that is mainly PCs/ fashion / food / art etc "news". Radio its mainly 3rrr and pbs which are independent stations and they don't really have much "news" content

unless im researching something or looking up stuff then its everywhere

Thank you Tyoson.
This post is a textbook example of why driving safely is important.
You can never get complacent about driving.

Driving too slow can be a hazard as well.

"Me driving at 100 kmph in 100 zone at 1AM."
"No cars anywhere in sight, just me."
"Something flies past me at supersonic jet speed."
"****.jpg"
"Get to Traffic lights where CBD begins."
"One car in front of me at Red Light, no other lanes along the way so it must be that same car."
"Wtf I was doing speed limit, he was doing almost double."
"We are both at the end of the 100k strip at the EXACT same time."
"MFW this happened every weekend for 6months."

Either I don't understand the joy of driving like a **** lunatic and risking my life for no reason at all, or that these intelligent people know of something, that I don't.

Live in poverty stricken desert where people die of starvation everyday, have 8 kids.

Sounds like bad parenting.

The countries worst hit by famine and disease, like DR of Congo, Ethiopia, Zimbabwe, Kenya etc, are all predominately christian, with Roman catholicism being the biggie. The predominately muslim countries, like Algeria, Libya, Egypt etc, might have civil strife every second day, but they're infinitely better off than their Jesus lovin' neighbours when it comes to hunger and AIDS.

So virtually the complete opposite of what you said is true.

Take heart, Wulfgang. Most people would rather fight starvation then homocidal folks with an AK. :)

Congo and zimbabwe famines are man mad famines. Cause by magubue amd other athiestic despots. And roman catholicism is not the biggie in any of those countries.
In ethiopia islam is the single biggest religion. Catholicism is the smallest denomination So i don't know where you're getting your info from. And the only reasons the northern sahara races aren't starving is because they have billions if not trillions of dollars worth of oil under their land. Those **** couldn't go hiungry if they tried. And catholic countries in africa have the lowest incident of aids.

A large number of religions are traditionally practiced in Ethiopia, the most numerous today being Orthodox Christianity, followed by Islam.

Quote:
In 2005, the Roman and Eastern Catholic Churches of Africa embraced approximately 135,600,000 members of the 809,105,000 residents in Africa. In 2009, when Pope Benedict XVI visited Africa, it was estimated at 158 million.[1] By 2025, one-sixth (230 million) of the world's Catholics are expected to be African.[2] The world's largest seminary is in Nigeria, which borders on Cameroon in western Africa, and over all, Africa produces a large percentage of the world's priests.

wiki

Right now that's over 150 million catholics, all of whom are told by the church that contraceptives are a sin, and that the only alternative is to either get married to the woman you knocked up after giving her and your unborn child AIDS, or celibacy. Same deal with South America. We all know how it's working out.

Also, Catholism is the biggie among christians in Africa (all the little offshoot Baptist clubs don't count), Mugabe is a practicing catholic, and catholicism is the predominant religion in Zimbabwe.

you starve a man, and deprive him of everything for long enuf and when someone puts a gun in his hand and says: that one did this to you and if u remove him you can get back all you have lost. The man most like will take to the gun

but if you say to the starving man that if he takes the gun his family will eat and get back what they lost then it even more certain

bit of bleed over from the sand planet thread but this conflict seems to be about more then just soldiers and resources to some
