i love consoles i have got every console that has come out in the last 20 years and most of them on launch day - i love them so much i try to be at the front of any lines outside the main shop taking part in a midnight launch
then i take the console home and because i love consoles so much i leave it in its box still wrapped in its plastic. I have a wall of boxes in the living room that are just never used consoles - they are all in mint mint unused condition
Im told the collection is worth a lot of money
when friends come round they are always pretty impressed by the stack of consoles. And when my friends ask "where is the bathroom"? i tell them because i love consoles so much its ok to take a dump on my "stack of consoles".
I take pictures of them doing so - i make them climb up right to the top where i have a specially constructed platform.
Everyone tells me its pretty strange at first but after the first few awkward moments and the **** starts to fly im told its actually quite liberating for most people - its like when u go on a roller coaster and u get your picture taken just after the loop the loop ive been told. Not exactly as exciting but a certain something and because i love consoles i love to share my love with all my friends

Had a Wii for 4 months. Sold it on ebay for profit after Christmas rush emptied all stock in Sydney.. Never looked back!
I still rock out the N64 when I have friends over sometime, we play some mario kart or mario tennis with drinks and its good fun.
I maintain my prediction that nintendo will go under or downsize tremendously in the next decade.

Nintendo are living in the past, the 80's and 90's are long gone and the sooner they wake up and release their games with new concepts the better, I am tired of them rehashing **** like collecting **** coins, jumping on mushrooms heads, saving zelda, collecting banana's or collecting a key to open the next door of some **** castle I couldn't give to **** about, sure the characters were good back in the 80's, but now all nintendo seems to do is release a underpowered console with subpar graphic capabilities and milk their catalogue of cash cows. In my opinion Nintendo are the console equivalent of the call of duty games franchise, nothing is ever updated to modern standards and they release crap every year for a premium price so the kids and fanboys are happy, and never bring anything new to the table, the only innovative thing Nintendo has done is add motion sensor technology to the wii, which both sony and microsoft attempted to replicate, but we all know how that worked out for nintendo, the wii is a piece of ****, maybe if they get some real games on the wii-u I might get one, but until then nintendo won't see another cent from me. Even nintendo's handheld consoles are pieces of ****, I sold my DS and got a psp which I enjoyed a lot more, then I gave nintendo another go with the 3DS and soon sold that piece of **** and got a psvita and love, at least the vita has games targetted at a adult audience, instead of the kid friendly and noob friendly games you get on the 3DS. well I couldn't be **** typing anymore or starting an argument with you, but thats my opinion of nintendo, I say **** em

You do know they emit subterranean wave messages as you play, data is being implanted in your psyche this how the government controls you.
One day when the time is right the government will release the activation code and it will have millions of people doing its bidding like following an election in a foreign country.

but remember that time we all got together in the "Bolivia Elections" thread and had that massive discussion over if it would be El Dictator or Senior Usapuppet who would win? And why EL Dictators health reforms far out weighted the national security pledges from Senior Usapuppet,,, and dont even get me started on the Liechtenstein Elections thread from last year,,, Vote 1 Franz I, Prince of Liechtenstein good times good times

Once upon a time if we talked about games we were all on the same page i feel as a PC i am being left by the wayside. Their are many really entertaining funny and enjoyable games being made on the other side of the fence, somehow i feel like the gaming i grew up with is slowly sailing off into a setting sun and all i am left with is the dross second grade flim flam that is released as a token nod to the progenitor of gaming as for W8 that is an anti gaming system.

Personally, I couldn't give a **** what all you trolls think, as I'm an avid Nintendo fanboy since the NES, and I've preordered the Wii U premium package, along with Pro controller and ZombiU to satiate my own, and my children's gaming funzone, and will be picking it up at the midnight launch come Nov.30! Fair enough, I'm generally a PC gamer at heart, and love BF3, MOHWF, Borderlands 2, and Starcraft 2, but the enjoyment I get out of every one of my Nintendo consoles with my kids makes continuing the Nintendo love for the next generation all the more heartening!

I think i am beginning to see what is going to happen with W8.
Gabe of Valve and others say it will be the end of gaming what they should say it will be the end of all gaming platforms that don't go through the windows store.
And that is what i think the nub of the problem is Microsoft is saying you want to install any game on your PC ? W8 will run a check for the Microsoft shop algorithm if the game is not listed as Microsoft shop approved then its no soup for you.
I guess this means you won't be able to install your previous games or download games from Valve or any other site unless they suck Microsoft's big toe and pay to have their games in the Microsoft shop. Of course i might have the wrong end of the paw paw altogether.

Yea i agree W7 forever. linux is still emulators, Nvidia has almost got its drivers to run on linux the key to success is for game devs to abandon direct X for open gl and indio then you would avoid the catastrophe the poor linux guys on world of Warcraft suffer getting kicked for cheating because their emulation soft ware is picked up as a hack.

My 30 seconds of research tells me that I made a good call: I don't think they'll hit bankruptcy - they're not indebted enough. I'd expect them to exit the hardware market and just milk their IP like Sega did.

How many products do Apple sell compared to Nintendo? Have you got stats for Apple? Just think about it, it's like looking at Microsoft shares and then saying how good the Xbox is doing. It's a small part of their income. Nintendo is predominantly a gaming company so they don't have things like windows and iPads to stat pad there shares. I am by no means a Nintendo fan boy but I think your dreaming when you say they are going to be broke this decade... What btw what is the graph you posted of Nintendo ment to represent? It's pretty much a graph with no. Meaning...

Audi wrote: What btw what is the graph you posted of Nintendo ment to represent? It's pretty much a graph with no. Meaning... That's their share price. You know, that thing that you said was kind of important. Audi wrote: How many products do Apple sell compared to Nintendo? Have you got stats for Apple? Apples share price was recently at a record high. The only reason I brought it up was for a simple example that 'GFC' doesn't cut it as a reason why a company needs to sliding for 5 years in a row. Despite the fact that the US was at the epicenter of the GFC, the Dow Jones has mostly made up all of the value lost since 2008. Again, 'GFC' doesn't cut it. Nintendo's problem is structural. I'm actually very bearish on Apple stock but that's a whole different can of worms. Audi wrote: Nintendo is predominantly a gaming company so they don't have things like windows and iPads to stat pad there shares. I am by no means a Nintendo fan boy but I think your dreaming when you say they are going to be broke this decade... Exactly, they don't really have anything, except outdated hardware and an expensive bill should they wish to try and break into the market with hardware again. Besides consoles their bread and butter money maker were gameboys and handheld devices which have been mostly absorbed by the smart phone uprising. That market is doing very badly for them now. Their main asset is their vast intellectual property/trademarks e.g Mario. Once they get beaten into a corner they'll strip down the company to its bones and just keep a software arm like Sega did.

Only half correct - for their hardware to be profitable they need to be earning royalties on games other developers release on their platforms. If they're not selling platforms, that business is dead. If anything, the fact that they develop a lot of their own games makes killing off their consoles a lot easier. There's really no reason why they can't just be selling mario for PS3, except perhaps typical japanese pride and doggedness. Some people in the industry were suggesting that they should pair up with Apple and marry their intellectual property to Apple's design and manufacturing power. I think its a bit farfetched but I could see it happening, especially with Jobs out of the picture. Also Apple stock are way overvalued so they could use them to buyout a stake in Nintendo quite cheaply at the moment and secure a strategic alliance.

The hardware they make is purely based upon their vision of how they are going to make new games. It is better f Nintendo just completely collapsed and they burnt down their HQ rather then sell out to Hipster Fruit and Stupony.
