You guys hear of the root kit being installed by UBIsoft?
Personally I only ever play cracked copies of their games because of their **** DRM.
Guess there will be some backlash? Maybe a recall like Sony had when their BGM rootkit was discovered..

there was a game on amiga 500 that was like a football match except there was swords and that on the field. kinda like blood bowl but real times. you could decapitate opponents and kick there heads like the foot ball.

was some pretty good games on it.

Brutal sports, looks terrible these days but I'm sure it was fun back then..
Some of the best I remember where The Chaos Engine, Unreal, Venus The Fly Trap along with all the monkey islands and other adventure games.. As well as gunship, I struggle to recall owning a legit copy of any game thou.

Just had a look, Unreal was a UBIsoft game. Classic..

It isn't a rootkit, its a security issue with the uPlay web browser plugin. You should disable it, and enjoy the fantastic games from UbiSoft available for 25% off right now from the Games Shop.

The commercial content of the above statement has been clearly identified in accordance with my longstanding expectations that someone will think I'm seriously shilling for some company because no matter what I say, someone takes it the worst possible way and ***** about it.

I buy games I play, but I will likely never purchase another product from BioWare or EA if it uses that DRM ****. Because of it, I've been left corresponding with EA tech support (who have no intention of ever resolving the problem) for a period of months to get some DLC activated for ME2.

I frown on anybody who pirates games, except in the case of a company using DRM, in which case yarrr me hearties pirate that **** just to spite the devs and publishers.

The only time I've ever pirated music was when I couldn't buy it, as in it isn't in a catalogued anymore and I can't get it through either Amazon or iTunes.

I usually listen to a stack of songs on youtube from an album that's peaked my interest, and if I really dig it I jump on Amazon and order it. I'm not against people downloading stuff, but if you like it, and get something out of it, then you should pay for it.

Yeah don't get me wrong I have paid bucket loads of money to game developers over the years. In fact there are a lot of UBIsoft games I have bought, just non of the ones that have this draconian drm.

The Federal Government launched public hearings into IT pricing discrimination

Mr Husic said the committee would investigate geo-blocking  ,and why iTunes 52 per cent more Nintendo Wii games 88 per cent more a Microsoft product was $8500 cheaper in the US, making it cheaper to fly overseas to purchase.

Australians are used to price discrimination, but the prices of digital downloads takes it to the next extreme Apple and Microsoft have refused to appear before the inquiry.

Hmm dare i say it "carbon tax" seriously i am surprised the government cant figure this out with out a committee.

I read all about the carbon tax and not a single **** was given. It's just politics trying to mess with companies like they always have done and will do.

Then windex addicts talk about it as though it's the biggest revelation of the 21st century.
