Hi, I've been playing games for years and years. The topic came up with my RL friends the other day that i was addicted to games. I was like NO F@#K NO. I just like playing games at night to relax. I then asked what do you do. The response was i watch movies. So i said cause you do it every night does that mean your addicted to movies. The guys response NO F@#K NO it's not like i sit in front of a computer screen playing games all night. My response what the hell is the difference between sitting on a couch watching a movie or on a chair playing a game. His response well im sitting there watching where you are playing. Now i laughed so hard i nearly **** myself and said thats ok you watch your movies and you wont get fat like a guy playing a game. He laughed and said thats right addict. Now you got through that crap and it is a flame thread so flame away i invite it. What are other addictions that are not recognized yet fall under the addict guidelines like alcohol drugs smoking and now gaming. Well i have a huge one its called Gym addiction or Fitness Addiction. Its the guy or girl that does the same thing every night at the gym or out walking or running. even if they wanted to stop they couldn't cause its what drives them everyday and they feel like crap if they miss out. How come every single specialist that is against gaming addiction cannot see this fitness addiction? Flame Away to haters and lovers.

the average american watches 5 hours of TV a day. im lucky if i spend more than 10 hours gaming over a week. its no addiction and is probably considerably more mentally stimulating than passively watching a tv show or movie.

Someone help me, I have a problem! Can you be addicted to sports? Sex? Dancing? Cream and jelly filled pastry? Chicken breast with mushroom and onion, carrots, potato, pumpkin and beans?

People watch Football on TV, then watch shows about Football, then in the off season they get ready for football and watch shows that lead up to football season, they get posters and bumper stickers and shirts and hats that are football related, then play football with each other in the park, then spend a fortune on tickets for football where they physically assault and sometimes kill each other no matter what the outcome of the match is. People will get violent if football is taken away from them or denyed them, become verbally and physically agressive if you indicate that you don't care about football or follow another team and will actually judge another person on the basis of which team they are interested in...
I dunno. Sounds like addict behaviour, doesn't it?

You know you're addicted when activities which already have time slots, creep into or overlap another. Lesser extent past your bedtime but say, you prioritise it in front of your meals, before your friends etc. Or worse you cannot stop thinking about what you could have accomplished if you played the extra few hours.
Internet friends don't count.

Could Toots be the phantom snow dropper that has plagued the town? i think he was caught sniffing with his head in his mum's dirty underpants laundry basket.

Quote: But in reality the only effective filter or block is for parents to take an active interest in their children's online activities and for schools to empower them with internet safety strategies.
The case for parents to become engaged is overwhelming, as shown by research by Adelaide's Flinders University that highlighted the rise of internet problems:
62 per cent of teenagers said they needed professional help to deal with their internet habit.
56 per cent said their parents showed no interest in the problem.
30 per cent of users said they were becoming addicted to the internet. Walking the streets of Cyberia http://www.theage.com.au/news/education ... tml?page=2

GOD DAMN How old are you and what are your interests aside from gaming, maybe you could start a web business. I like asking people what business they would like to operate if they had unlimited money??

well im pretty sure you only get taxed if you declare it and such. I mean its not like you need to set up an ABN and do a bas statement for selling items on blizzards real money auction house, I dont think blizzard lodges their info to the australian taxation department and being online and dealt with overseas perhaps it wouldnt fall in the jurisdiction of the ATO.
