Weapon + Vehicle Packs, DICE rewards loyalty and hours spent, by giving the noobs unlocks for cash. They should spend their time fixing the guns instead of making cash grab features.

Who gives a **** about people buying weapon packs? They broke the goddamned game.

Tanks are now made of paper mache, choppers are now lock on magnets, they screwed up the physics in jets (royally, including taking out hardbrake HNNNNNGGGG), and the sounds make your ears bleed after 3 minutes of playing. They essentially completely crapped the balanced of the game, and ruined vehicles - the main drawcard for a **** battlefield game.

Patch is a gamebreaker. BF3 = MW3 with taxis.

umm? surely the bigger problem is that players of higher ranks have superior weapons in the first place?

I mean, don't get me wrong, the game is absolutely **** for so many reasons, but the simple fact that unlocks give you an advantage over new players shows how little clue DICE/EA have about making games. In bf2, for example, the unlocks were balanced (maybe the E was a bit much, but the m16 with rego = E imo and the ak > them both).

How they managed to **** up a franchise that badly no one will ever know. I could have keyboard facerolled with notepad open and saved it as a .exe and it would have been a better game than bf3.

I actually don't mind most of the changes. The main problem I've encountered so far is that since supply boxes now stick around indefinitely, there're a lot more grenades flying around. Need to slow the resupply time on those.

I don't know what people are smokin but the stock BF3 weapons are great with the exception of the engineer's.

i liked it at first but it is too easy and boring

proper fps games you can do crazy stuff like rocket jump and use explosives and big boom without wannabe army dads crying "no rockets on infantry!"

with games like TF2 and Tribes Ascend around for free now hopefully those hitscan shooters start to die off in popularity

Tribes takes a lot more skill and its so fast rabbits you should play it, theres only a few hitscan weapons (the rest is spinfuser which is like mini rocket launchers!) and classes like sniper cannot 1 hit kill so you dont get camping fairy

Also yes tribes, I played it for a bit but i got between 9 and 17 fps. Such a fun fast paced game, but its okay I'm going to get a graphics card soon depending on a number of factors.

ye its a bit of a system hog but not as much as BF3 so all these dorks should be able to play it

you wont need a super card for tribes unless you wanna max it at 1080p+, id be more worried about getting good CPU since the maps are largish and you have lots of drongos flying all over the place

no need 2 rush either, the game should last a long time so u can save up moneys

you should, its F2P but they did it really good, you never have to buy anything can just earn it with Circa points or XP points for the rest of us

the skii mechanic is really cool, think Snowboarding + Rocket Launchers but the snowboard is one of those levitation boards from Back To The Future

How's that game?

Not too bad. It's based around relaxed realism, so it's kind of slow paced and leaves you wondering 'did I kill that guy or not?'. Tanks are kind of weird, haven't really bothered with them because they don't seem that useful. Lots of camping, lots of sniping all that ****. But yeah, BF3 was more fun before it was patched.

i played 2, they really fixed the game up, on launch it was horrible and ran like poos

its pretty uniqe shooter you get really immrsd in it so the camping doesnt feel out of place, small community now though cause of crap launch

now I know why there were people playing ro2, they were ragequitting over the bf3 patch

going back off-topic to tribes, do you use the light spinfusor or the bolt launcher? leaning toward the bolt launcher for the occasional easy air-mail, though I'm still a rubbish aim so I'm sticking to terrorising bases as the brute with the disco balls

on-topic: I never got bf3 after beta (800x600 all settings to low on my crappy pc? no sirree) so I can see some of the point in getting them (vehicle unlocks especially), though they're still at outrageous prices even before being on top of the game's price
