Okay so the game has been dead for a while and I'm sure most players will be re-installing so might run into some probs, I will try to address any potential issues below.

Let me know of any problems not covered below and we will see what we can do for you.

Once the game is installed update Punkbuster manually using the link below. Click the link "For All Windows Games" complete the captcha, download and run, then add Vietnam and update.

Battlefield Vietnam Display settings

Some players will have graphic problems such as crashes to desktop etc below is a fix for this.

Open the file VideoDefault.con located in the settings folder on Battlefield Vietnam.

The main config files are found under the \EA Games\Battlefield vietnam\Mods\Bfvietnam\Settings\

Windows 7 64 bit
C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield Vietnam\Mods\BfVietnam\settings

Open VideoDefault.con using Notepad (Right click on VideoDefault.con, choose "properties" then "change" then select Notepad)

Change the line renderer.allowAllRefreshRates 0 to renderer.allowAllRefreshRates 1

If windows will not allow you to save the file, save the file to desktop then drag it into the settings folder to overwrite it.

Running Battlefield Vietnam in FULL HD 1920x1080

In order to run Battlefield Vietnam in FULL HD you have to change the video config files. The Config files are found in two different places on Windows 7 64 bit both will be listed below.

(Make sure hidden files and folders is turned on. Hold down the Windows key + r then paste this into it RunDll32.exe shell32.dll,Options_RunDLL 0 and click ok, select the "view tab" and select
Show hidden files folders drives.)

Navigate to

C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield Vietnam\Mods\BfVietnam\settings\Profiles\custom

Or

C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield Vietnam\Mods\BfVietnam\settings\Profiles\Custom

Open Video.con and VideoDefault.con

Change the line in Video.con to match this game.setGameDisplayMode 1920 1080 32 0

Then

Change the line in VideoDefault.con to match this game.setDisplayMode 1920 1080 32 0game.setGameDisplayMode 1920 1080 32 0

Hey 6 mate, nah music etc doesn't work on Vista / Win 7, that being said, what I did was download the songs from Youtube like "nowhere to run" convert it to mp3 and name it "a.mp3" then the next track b.mp3 etc, place them into C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield Vietnam\My Music.

Then when you get into a Vehicle your custom list will come up and you can kill to music again :P
