We also came to GA as Hypernia was having the same problem. DDOS attacks all the time. Our servers were going down 5-10 times a day and we saw that GA was still up - hence the change.

Oh well. Looks like the DDOS followed us. - LOL -

Still happy we moved as hypernia was always keeping us in the dark. At least GA is actually telling the truth and trying to do something about it.

Thanks for the good work. However its a shame that our 32 player has had hardware failure. Cant wait to get it back up.

Cheers again GA

That hardware failure was just salt on the wound. If we can't get the hardware back up soon I'll start bringing up selected servers on other hosts as a temporary solution.

Edit: if you have a server on ga0412a and you need it online, log a support ticket. I probably don't have the spare capacity to move every server off that host, but if you've got a match on tonight, or have a popular server, let me know.

Our 32 player is a popular server. However, no big deal as one or two days out is not a problem. We have a ticket in for it already. Its up to you if you want to get it up for us.

Cheers

The guy is probly bragging on World of Warcraft in trade chat.

Me being richer then other people and aqquiring premium early access with some pocket change I had left over from that $200 ham burger I bought for lunch must have really ruffled someones jimmies. At the end of early access 9fag army/reddit will **** off and their retarded agendas will go with them.

Fight the power, fight the EA.

One of the hosts for our BF3 servers has been affected by the same hardware failure that has hit other parts of the site. It is getting super urgent attention, but it starting to look like it won't be back online before peak time.

I thought I'd replied to your support ticket. I must have gotten something out of order, I marked your server as one of the high priority servers that we'll bring back on another host, but didn't actually tell you about it. Sorry about that one, it has just been that sort of week... well, month really.

just did just read the ticket just then.

Sorry for overlooking your request for an update.

The host for your server (ga0412a) has suffered a hardware failure. It is being worked on urgently, but we don't have an ETA on a fix at the moment.

I've added your server to a list of high priority servers to be restored to a different host. This involves recovering some files from a backup, so I can't give you an ETA on that either, but I'll update this job when I have more information.

bleep bleep!
Regards,
Brendan :P

If you keep telling people how much free time I'm giving you, I won't be able to give it out as freely :(

Edit: but when we **** something up, we admit to it and toss out the compensation. We take your money when things work, so its only fair we don't take it when they aren't working - if it is within our power to fix.

last post all fixed  last post look better 8-)

and i might add if it was hardware failure is this why over the last 4 months out of the blue players was all kicked from server at times, not every day but at least 4 times a day or more ,in a week at least one day to two we have it happen

Edit: well when its fixed we get no more players geting kicked from the server that be one great thing. i did post long time ago about all my players geting kicked from server but dident get any think good back to say it was geting worked on. at last the GA gods are here to help thanks very much ,

Heh, worse than that, I'm cooking tonight. ;)

I've heard back from the network guys, things are looking good, but anyone with a server down who needs it up - hit me with a support ticket. I'll be checking them on and off all evening.

I have opened my firewall completely.

The dropouts are not gamearena. I bet DICE has caused the issue. They have made a huge distributed database of players all over the world, if the gameserver loses connection to their database, all players disconnect.

They have made a stupid advertising database, when they could have just given us a gameserver and let us have our own forums and databases.

I had no idea what dice was doing, i found out by accident.

occasional 'back end' disconnections where a BF3 server drops its connection to the servers run by EA/DICE to handle player stats. These are the ones you refer to. These have also affected all Australian BF3 RSPs (and others globally). We are working closely with DICE to resolve this issue, and we believe we are making progress. We hoped we'd have something very positive this week, but the DDOS issues have interrupted our testing.

This is very exciting news - the constant mass disconnection of players is something that has been driving players (and us game server owners) crazy for a while now!

If you need any test servers please let me know - i would be happy to assist as we can replicate the issue at will. I have 5 servers hosted by GA of which 3 of them are the most popular BF3 servers in Australia according to gametracker.com

If you can nail this issue you will get lots of kudos points from us!

When it happened at GameServers with us previous, they weren't very open about it. I think in part it came from them being an international company with not much idea of how their Australian servers were actually performing.

Not fixed, but progress has been made. More progress will occur during the R31 deploy tonight, and I'm reporting stats daily to DICE for them to work on.

Hi,

Could you possibly see if you could get this Spark server back online?

sparkteam.com.au 2(Bigpond Unmetered) Offline
Slots 0/64 Mode Conquest
Map Bandar Desert

It has been offline for quite a while and is our platoon server.
I've opened ticket 229443.

Thanks

Just a final update - DICE have pretty much sorted this one out - our monitoring has shown a massive improvement in the stability of the servers.

why are the servers crashing now? All Game Arena servers disappeared on Christmas day and although I'm able to join on boxing day, the games don't last too long before they crash.

I doubt very much you'll get an answer here. Forums are the slowest way to get an answer, so to expect one on Boxing Day is going to be a Christmas miracle. If you own a server, put in a support ticket. :)

BigPond went down yesterday as far as I know.
May not have been everything, but there were a lot of things not accessible yesterday afternoon.
