I played CQ for lol's when it first came out with a guy on friends and tonight I went back to see how it was doing and to get some sub machine gun kills. Suprise, suprise, all the servers were empty except one with about 17 people, 10 of the players had shotguns, no point in stating the obvious as to why the COD's bastard game mode is dead in the water already.

There are 8 populated servers of the 30 for Australia and New Zealand. Really popular expansion eh.

You have "Full" selected, you doin it wrong.

Yep 1 full server in the whole of aus/nz. There wasn't enough room in this thread to post up all the empty servers.

The names of some of the new maps they are releasing are so unoriginal. Scrapmetal. Sounds like something out of Gears of War.

PS. not saying gears of war is a bad game, as it's twice the game BF3 will ever be.

Its only played in African countries.

Instead of buying premium, I spent the $50 on a happy ending at my local Chinese massage parlour. Got more enjoyment out of that 37 seconds than with five hundred hours of BF3's mind-numbing mediocrity.

I am liking the CQ maps and play on the BHR Clan server 64 player. It's usually full at night so I don't see how it's empty all the time

When you play Metro all the time, a change is a good as a holiday....

Ziba Tower is a fun map

metro is obviously the best game mode, because its the most popular

If you filter for only CQ you won't find a lot of servers because most servers have now moved on to including both CQ and vanilla maps in the rotation, which won't be found in the search you did above.

CQ DEAD GAME MODE !!!!! Only dead thing here is what rattles around in ya head buddy.

Most people prefer vehicles, so yeah anything cod format isnt going to be popular, Still prefer bf3 to bf2 any day of the week, even with the imbalance, and crashing between map changes.

Next expansion isnt far away.

I think close quarters is pretty good. Better than i thought it would be.

I think there are different niche's. The Spark players dont seem to be that interested in Close Quarters.

I just hope DICE/EA remember what Battlefield was, it is ok to make new niche's, as long as they cover the classic Battlefield niche.

I want to see some more of the large maps.

I find CQ good for something different. No different then jumping into a TDM server for a bit. But give me my chopper any day.

The thing I find odd with the CQC maps is their size. Ziba Tower is the only map that feels like it belongs. Scrap Metal to a point. The palace and 9-5 are HUGE. And, unless you're playing ConDom (surely DICE saw that shortening?!) where people are always going to be at one of the three flags, you can roam around pointlessly for ages looking for someone.

Random spawns are pretty bad, too. They need to fix that.

And they need to get their level designers on it to retro-fit some other game modes. Block some doors, add a couple of minor events, implement rush/squad rush. Seems silly not to include those modes in the maps.

i do still enjoy the CQ maps for a bit of fun.

used it to help me get a few ribbons and medals last night.

i got a survelliance medal from putting the tugs around in those maps, helpful especially in tight quarters with random spawn points.

great fun using the DAO and blasting through 2-3 bodies at a time!

played for a while then went back to a wake server and had just as much fun in there...

i enjoy both inf and vech/inf maps, although the inf only maps seem to be a bit of a cluster-fu*K (ie metro, CQ)
