I can't wait for GA to put on a BF43 server so "The Rock" and DHS can ruin it.

But lets wait and see it will go something like this we will have a full server most of the time. Then Cherocha will say the allies should have Zeros to fly in and then "The Rock" with his follow the leader mentality will say thats a good idea. Then Pharian will say I can modify the maps for you. Then they will have thier secret ballot that only DHS vote on as they are they whole gamming community. The changes will come and the server will be empty.

Man can't wait for MW2! Multiplayer will be awesome. I'm glad they simplified the whole server joining thing with matchmaking. No longer will we have to deal with **** server browsers.

pretty sure i didnt mod the maps & said that i didnt want to give my mods to GA cos then there would be no difference between GA and iinet.

though i could be wrong... cant remember.

the fact that none of my weird *** changes are on GA and the mods are exactly the same as sebstinators_death_bubble_maps seems to suggest i am right. i think i did, however, point rock in the direction of where to get the bubble maps, but a 2min google search would have found them for him anyways.

though i am yet to be convinced that the map changing had anything at all to do with GA dying. i think it died because iinet is a better place to be and we went to a 64 player server. so we could fit more ppl, had better games, better maps, and GA didnt get our runoff anymore.

Are you serious Johnson? No dedicated servers would be terrible. Half the time you'd end up on **** American servers with 200+ ping, as apparently console users do. I'd prefer manually connect via IP to an Internode server (which is what I ended up doing half the time for COD4) and actually playing on a decent server than be hurled into a random server which has people of my 'skill level', which I'm guessing will be worked out by a simple formula involving kills, deaths, level and time played as skill isn't something you can work out other than by watching a player actually play the game. Also the lack of modifications is a sure sign that a game will die early. Think of how much we've got out of BF1942 mods. Pirates, DC? There will probably be an enforced 16 player limit too, which I don't mind tbh, I hate it over populated servers but it will still probably be spammier than COD4, due to the new killstreak ****, AC130? All this combined with the lack of dedicated servers makes a horrible game all up. Enjoy the hole in your pocket where \$60-\$100 once was.

Yea I think its pretty obvious that gaming on consoles is the way future gaming will head so the closer PCs come to consoles in terms of gaming functionality, the better it will be for the community. Hopefully one day we'll be able to have PC vs console multiplayer matches.

Seems a bit like consoles are the way things are headed which will mean I'll stop gaming. I don't want a console, if I did, I'd have one instead of a PC. I'd have no issues with PCs and consoles playing on the same servers though, in fact that could only be a good thing, but I don't see why the removal of dedicated servers is needed for this. However, consoles are just more profitable these days, and that's all companies care about. If PCs don't rake in the cash, they'll stop developing games for us rather than change their game to suit what we want. They will always make more off consoles.

Also, don't all competitive ladders these days run at least a small modification to make it easier to host a match? COD4 and WaW both have large mods making competitive gaming 'better', or so they say. I wouldn't go near a COD ladder. Ever. Promod/warmod/whatever the **** they called it was ****, but CGo and GA ran it. Perhaps they'll be better off without it, but tbh I wouldn't clan again anyway. I'm fairly sure CS:S and TF2 both had mods too, although they weren't game changing, they just auto swapped teams and set up the servers properly.

I'm sure a lot of people will enjoy MW2, but I honestly enjoy being able to chose my server. I'd think about getting it a few months after release if it had dedicated server support, but there's no chance of me getting it without it. I play CS:S and TF2 atm, and always on Adelaide Internode servers.

Also, I hope you enjoy paying for DLC, which will consist of 2-3 maps and cost you \$10, where before you could download thousands of community made maps which were often better, for free.

I currently use an Xbox 360 controller for 42. It really does add to my game play experience. As consoles develop more and more, I think it is only a matter of time until we see either consoles take over PC in gaming, or a supreme merge between the two.

And I wouldn't be too hasty to dismiss no dedicated servers. The convenience of not having to find a server will save hours, translating to millions of dollars in opportunity costs!
